  • What is an ‘eVisit’?
    An eVisit is a telehealth service in which Pfizer colleagues and their dependents can seek treatment for non-emergency conditions via phone or web-based video conference from a state licensed, board-certified physician. Pfizer is partnering with Teladoc, a leading telehealth provider, to provide this service.
  • What are some of the common conditions Teladoc treats?
    Common conditions include sinus problems, respiratory infection, allergies, urinary tract infection, cold and flu symptoms, smoking cessation, and many other non-emergency illnesses.
  • Can I use this service for my family?
    Yes. This service is for you, your spouse, and your dependents, regardless of insurance coverage.
  • Where is this service available?
    This service is available to all Pfizer active colleagues and their dependents enrolled in the Pfizer Medical Plan (excluding Rx Only). This program is not offered in IA.
  • Is my electronic health record kept private?
    Yes. Health records are kept completely private and we employ robust encryption methods to protect your personal information. You determine who can see the information in your record.
  • How much does a consultation cost?
    The cost of a Teladoc consultation for Pfizer colleagues and dependents is $10. You complete your online medical history yourself at no cost, but if you require an operator to help enter your medical records via phone, there is an additional one-time fee of $12.
  • How can I pay for this service?
    After you complete your consultation, you will be prompted to provide your credit card information for the $10 consultation fee. If you complete your medical history via phone, you will be prompted to provide your credit card information for the additional $12 fee.
  • What type of doctors will I speak to?
    Colleagues talk to doctors who are U.S. board-certified, state-licensed internists, family practitioners, pediatricians and emergency medicine doctors licensed to practice medicine in the U.S. and living in the U.S. When you request a consultation, Teladoc will connect you with a doctor licensed in your state.
  • When are doctors available?
    Teladoc doctors are available by phone 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, and 365 days a year. You will receive a call back from Teladoc doctors in 22 minutes, on average. Video consults are available from 7am-9pm, 7 days a week.
  • Can Teladoc handle my emergency situations?
    Teladoc is designed to handle non-emergency medical problems. You should NOT use it if you are experiencing a medical emergency. If you are experiencing a medical emergency, go to the emergency room immediately or call 911.
  • Can I get a prescription?
    Teladoc does not guarantee prescriptions. It is up to the doctor to recommend the best treatment. Teladoc doctors do not issue prescriptions for substances controlled by the DEA, non-therapeutic, and/or certain other drugs which may be harmful because of their potential for abuse.
  • How do I obtain my prescription?
    Teladoc does not dispense prescription drugs. Teladoc electronically sends your prescription to the pharmacy of your choice. If your chosen pharmacy does not accept electronic prescriptions a Teladoc nurse will call in your prescription.
  • Can I speak with a specialist?
    You cannot request to speak with a specialist directly, but Teladoc’s doctors may be able to provide guidance on the type of specialist you should see.
  • Can I request a particular doctor?
    You cannot request a particular doctor. Teladoc is designed to support your relationship with your existing doctor. It is not a means of establishing an exclusive relationship with one of Teladoc’s doctors. Please know that all Teladoc doctors are highly qualified and go through rigorous training and credentialing.
  • Can I be turned down for a pre-existing condition?
    Teladoc does not turn patients away because of pre-existing conditions.
  • What if I have problems signing up for Teladoc?
    If you have problems logging in, there are a number of steps you can take to attempt to resolve the issue, and start using the Teladoc service:
      1. Try using another web browser to register for Teladoc. Input the following web address into a different browser: https://member.teladoc.com/pfizer. Select ‘Set Up Account’ from the right hand side of the page and follow the steps outlined.
      2. Call Teladoc Call 1-800-TELADOC to sign up over the phone. Pfizer will waive all phone registration fees for those users who are having trouble signing up for the service online.
  • What is Pfizer’s relationship with Teladoc?
    Teladoc is a leading Telehealth provider with whom Pfizer is partnering to provide Pfizer colleagues access to telehealth services.
  • Why is Pfizer involved in this program?
    In an effort to expand access to quality, on demand healthcare, Pfizer Benefits, in partnership with the Primary Care Business Unit, is launching this service to provide colleagues with an on-demand healthcare option. Pfizer hopes this effort will help colleagues and their families get the medical care they need, while advancing this innovative option for primary care.

  • Can I call Teladoc outside of the United States?
    You can request a Teladoc consultation from anywhere in the world. You will speak with a doctor licensed in your home state. International consultations are advice-only. You must have a U.S. address and a U.S.-based phone number for the doctor to call back at the time of consultation. Prescriptions and video consultations are not available for international consultations.
